Many people want an answer to the question: Do Strawberries whiten teeth? I have one of those hippy, naturalist type friends who says yes!
He even gave me his secret recipe to make strawberry toothpaste, so I thought I would share it with you, read on!
In the past, going to the dentist was the only way that people knew about to get their teeth whitened. And back then, the procedure required several visits and it wasn’t cheap.
You would need to schedule appointments on an ongoing basis for several weeks in order to complete the process. Today, you can still have your teeth professionally whitened by a dentist, however, there are also procedures you can do at home, and at your own pace.
In fact, there are items that you can buy at your local drug store that have been created especially for teeth whitening at home. These include whitening strips as well as whitening toothpaste.
However, many people are looking for a natural solution to improve their smile and get rid of yellow teeth. Some have suggested rinsing with peroxide, rubbing orange peels on your teeth, rinsing with lemon juice and brushing with strawberries.
Do Strawberries Whiten Teeth?
Of the natural teeth whitening solutions above, the one that has worked best for me is strawberries. This method involves using a mixture of strawberries and baking soda.
If you want to give it a try, mix together a half teaspoon of baking soda and a mashed strawberry. Once you have the mixture nicely blended together, use it like you would with toothpaste and brush your teeth with it, then wait about 5 minutes and brush again with regular toothpaste.
If you do give this method a go, be careful and don’t over do it, one or two times a week is suggested. Any more than that and you could risk breaking down the enamel on your teeth as the acid from the strawberries is very strong.
Lastly, I am no dentist, so please don’t consider this as professional medical advice. Check with your dentist if you have any doubts. For me, I tried it and noticed that my smile became whiter and whiter.
